Description
Here is George Dimitrov’s report to the 7th Congress of the Communist International first delivered in 1935 as fascism began to take power across Europe.
Dimitrov was a Bulgarian Communist. He served as leader of the Bulgarian Communist Party from 1933 to 1949, and the first leader of the Communist People’s Republic of Bulgaria from 1946 to 1949. From 1935 to 1943, he was the General Secretary of the Communist International.
Also included in this booklet is Dimitrov’s 1936 speech on the People’s Front and a short speech to Young Communist International. The original Foreword by James West, then a U.S. youth delegate to the 7th Congress, is also included.
This New Edition includes a new Foreword by John Bachtell, President of Long View Publishing, the publisher of People’s World. Bachtell is also a life long Communist Party USA (CPUSA) member. His new Foreword confronts the current political moment, the danger of a rising far-right, the MAGA movement, and what Communists – and all progressives – should do if we are to stop fascism from becoming a reality.
