Description

Karl Marx’s Capital is one of the most important books in working class history – along with The Communist Manifesto. It is a foundational theoretical text of historical and dialectical materialism, political economy, and politics. In it, Marx reveals the economic patterns underlying the capitalist mode of production in contrast to classical political economists, such as Adam Smith, David Ricardo, and John Stuart Mill. While Marx did not live to publish subsequent volumes, they were completed after his death by his co-worker and friend Frederick Engels.

Capital is also available in hardcover; see Vol. 35 of the Collected Works of Marx and Engels (ISBN 978-0-7178-0535-8). Vols 02 and 03 are also available in paperback. For hardcover editions of Vol. 02 and Vol. 03, see Vol. 36 (ISBN 978-0-7178-0536-5) and Vol. 37 (ISBN 978-0-7178-0537-2), respectively, of the Collected Works of Marx and Engels.

  1. Joel Wendland-Liu

Obviously one of the most important books in human letters.

  2. Taryn Fivek

Excellent quality print, far superior to other versions such as Penguin with its onionskin paper and neglected, flimsy binding. You can tell this edition was printed with care and purpose. I expect to get many, many years of study out of this copy.
